Acceptable Use Policy
Tapemoon is for turning songs you own or have the rights to into music videos and related visuals. This policy sets out what you may not create, how we moderate content, how to report problems and what we do when the rules are broken. It applies to everything you submit (audio, song links, lyrics, prompts, uploads) and everything generated for you (storyboards, images, audio and video). It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to create, upload or share:
- Pornography and sexual content: nudity, sexually explicit acts or sexualized depictions of anyone. Love songs and romantic visuals are welcome; intimacy must stay non-explicit.
- Graphic violence and gore: realistic depictions of torture, mutilation, dismemberment or extreme injury, or content that glorifies or incites real-world violence.
- Hate speech: content that attacks, dehumanizes or incites violence or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or other protected attributes.
- Child-unsafe content: any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), any sexual or romantic content involving a minor or a character presented as under 18, and any content that endangers or exploits children. Characters in romantic scenes must be adults and clearly presented as adults.
- Deepfakes and real people in videos: face swaps; putting any real person, including yourself, into a video; “nudify” or undressing edits; making a real person appear to say, sing or do something they never did; or using any real person’s likeness without their consent. Videos must use fictional, AI-generated characters and scenes only.
- Voice cloning and artist impersonation: cloning anyone’s voice, or imitating a specific singer’s or artist’s voice or style so that a song or video is presented as theirs, including prompts such as “in the voice of [artist]” or “a new song by [artist]”. This applies to celebrities, public figures and private individuals.
- Copyright and trademark infringement: uploading or linking songs, recordings or lyrics you do not own or have the rights to (including commercially released tracks and covers), or copying characters, logos, artwork or footage from existing music videos, albums, films, games or brands.
Zero tolerance
CSAM or sexual content involving minors, real-person deepfakes and face swaps, and content that promotes terrorism or mass violence lead to immediate, permanent account termination. CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other competent authorities.
Other prohibited uses
- Harassment, threats, defamation, or sharing someone’s private information.
- Content intended to deceive people about real events, including fake news footage and election or health misinformation.
- Instructions for weapons, drugs, self-harm or other serious harm.
- Spam, scams and fraudulent commercial content.
- Prompts designed to get around our safety filters (“jailbreaks”), or switching models or settings to evade moderation.
2. Themes we allow
Songs often deal with heartbreak, anger, loss, crime, rebellion and dark moods. Visuals for these themes are allowed in a clearly artistic, fictional context, as long as the result stays within Section 1. Violence may be implied or shown at the level of a mainstream music video, without gore, and must not include real-world instructions for committing crimes.
3. Music, lyrics and real people
You may only upload or link audio and lyrics that you own or have the rights to use, as described in our Terms. Tapemoon does not sell or license music, and Outputs do not include rights to any third-party music. Copyright owners can send a notice as described in Section 8.5 of the Terms.
Do not upload photos, video or voice recordings of real people, including yourself, to put them into a video or to copy their voice. Consent does not make the uses prohibited in Section 1 allowed.
4. How we moderate
- Before generation: every prompt and lyric sheet is automatically screened against our content rules and a regularly updated list of prohibited terms, including sexual, child-safety, violence, hate, deepfake and protected-brand terms. Blocked requests are not generated and use no credits.
- After generation: generated images and video are checked automatically before they are shown to you.
- Human review: flagged content and every user report is reviewed by a person.
- Records: we keep moderation results and review decisions as described in our Privacy Policy.
Generated videos are AI-generated, and we encourage you to label them as such wherever you publish them. Many platforms require it.
5. Reporting
If you see content made with Tapemoon that breaks this policy, or that uses your likeness, voice, music or other work without permission, email support@tapemoon.com with the subject “Report”, a link or description of the content, and why it breaks the rules. Reports are confidential, and we do not tell the reported user who reported them.
| Severity | Examples | First response |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Child safety, real-person deepfakes and face swaps, terrorism | Within 24 hours; content removed as soon as confirmed |
| High | Sexual content, graphic violence, hate speech, voice cloning and artist impersonation | Within 2 business days |
| Other | Copyright notices, spam, other violations | Within 5 business days |
6. Enforcement
Depending on how serious the violation is and whether it is repeated, we may:
- block the request or remove the content;
- send a written warning;
- limit features or generation quotas;
- suspend the account while we investigate;
- permanently terminate the account, with remaining credits forfeited and no refund;
- report the matter to law enforcement where required by law.
7. Appeals
If you think we made a mistake, email support@tapemoon.com with the subject “Appeal” within 14 days of our notice. Someone who was not involved in the original decision will review it, and we will reply within 10 business days. Zero-tolerance violations cannot be appealed.
8. Changes
We update this policy as laws and risks change. We will update the date at the top of this page and email you at least 14 days before any material change takes effect.
